CAIRNS TO PERTH BY BIKE - started 11.6.09 and ended 6.09.09

Six years ago my mum died of breast cancer,as  did her mother when my mum was only eighteen. Her four sisters have all died from cancer and last year I lost a younger brother to pancreatic cancer.

In October 2003 ,with a mate,I rode a bicycle from Perth WA to London covering 16,000 kilometres in nine months (bike2blighty.com).I didn't get my act together then to raise money for a good cause so this time I hope to make amends.

On 12th June 2009 I will leave Cairns and fly to Bamaga,Mainland Australia's northern most town. From there I will cycle to the most northerly point Cape York and then head down the Cape York Peninsular and across the top end through Queensland,N.T. and into WA. As I head down the west coast I plan to ride to Australia's western most point,Steep Point. Then it will be head down until I arrive home in Perth in early September.

All being well I will ride over 7,000 kilometres and raise a significant amount of money for the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA.

Where communication allows I will post reports and photos of my travels and if you think that my efforts deserve some support then please direct this support as a donation to the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA.
